Since moving to New Orleans just a few weeks ago my wife and I have been taking every chance we get to explore our new city. New Orleans is special in that it's a blend of Spanish, French and Southern American culture.
Also, because the city is well over 300 years old there are layers of history stacked on top of one another. Every time we go out into the French Quarter or the Lower Garden district we discover something we hadn't seen before. An old building, decaying signage peeking out from behind peeling paint, broken tile lettering beneath our feet, window displays that have been maintained for decades, and on and on. Here are a few pictures from this week. I'll post more weekly. I've got a whole folder of goodies I can't wait to share with you!
